Registration for VMFA Members

To accommodate the high demand, members-only registration for the following categories will begin as noted:

Studio School and Art History Classes (ages 16+)

Tue, Aug 6 | 8 am (online or by phone) or 10 am (in person)

Teen and All Children’s Classes

Wed, Aug 7 | 8 am (online or by phone) or 10 am (in person)

Dominion Energy Jazz Café | Ban Caribe

Multi-instrumentalist, dazzling percussionist, and soulful singer Kevin Davis performs his special blend of Afro-Cuban, Latin, Caribbean, and R&B, which he calls Clavé Soul. Davis created his ensemble Ban Caribe 40 years ago. Today, they're not only RVA favorites but have also performed at venues and festivals throughout Virginia, Washington DC, the West Coast, and the Caribbean.

Dominion Energy Jazz Café | Carol Covell

Song stylist Carol Covell has that kind of voice: sweet and pure and melts like smooth chocolate. Her band will feature instrumental and vocal favorites from the Great American Songbook, as well as ballads and bossa nova, for your listening and dancing pleasure. Ms. Covell will be accompanied by Lee Covington on piano, Jack Byrnes on bass, and Todd Woodson on drums.

Drummer Kofi Shepsu continues to make a name for himself on the jazz scene playing with RVA favorites and nationally known artists alike. Jazz Café welcomes him back for an evening of jazz standards and tunes by contemporary artists. Featuring Garen Dorsey on keys and Jack Aylor on bass.

Sculpture Garden

DJ Nobe will be on the spin on the Pauley Center patio, so join us in the Sculpture Garden and come ready to dance. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Beer, wine, and snacks available for purchase in the Best Café. In case of inclement weather, we'll move the party to the Cochrane Atrium.
