Facility Services Lead Associate (Classified; Non-exempt)

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has an exciting opportunity for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Facility Services Lead Associate in our Facility Services department.

The Facility Services Lead Associate will assist the Facility Services Manager with the daily operation of the department by performing the following duties, including, but not limited to:

    • Cleaning an assigned area of the museum.
    • Assisting with the set up and breakdown of special events.
    • Tracking housekeeping requests and messages as well as coordinating special event and Facility Services projects.
The position work schedule is 7am – 3:45pm, alternating between Monday-Friday and Tuesday-Saturday.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable about proper cleaning methods, chemicals, supplies, and related safety practices in the performance of cleaning tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience in floor/ carpet care including the operation of power cleaning equipment.
  • The ability to lift/move objects up to fifty (50) pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Basic computer skills and effective written/oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in performing housekeeping responsibilities in large buildings is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a supervisor or team lead is preferred.

Special Requirements:

Selected candidates must pass a criminal history background check.
