The procession of revelers (komos) shown on this vase includes a male dancer performing the ritualized komast dance to the music of a female musician playing the auloi, a pair of wooden pipes. Though processions occurred on many occasions, the drinking cup and pitcher held by the youths indicate that the revelers are on their way home from a symposium. The other side of this vase shows figures reclining at a symposium listening to a male aulos player.
