Sculptor and furniture designer Forrest Myers uses steel and aluminum to create furniture that is also art; he believes that the two are not mutually exclusive. His forms and etched surfaces often echo ideas in modern painting and sculpture. Inspired by concepts established by designers such as Charles Eames, Myers cut and folded a single sheet of metal to create Love Bench. The shape comes from mid-19th-century tête-à-tête couches, designed for discreet flirtation.
