Livia Drusilla (58 BC–AD 29) was the wife of Augustus, Rome’s first emperor. She played a prominent role in Augustan propaganda as a model wife and mother. This coin was issued by her son from her first marriage, Emperor Tiberius, who became Augustus’s heir. Her grandson, Emperor Claudius, deified her.
