Seated Goddess (Primary Title)
Unknown (Artist)
This seated goddess closely resembles examples from Athens, where hundreds of terracotta statuettes were buried at the Acropolis after Persians sacked it in 480 BC. Like the nearby standing figure, the goddess has an “Archaic smile.”
