Although Granadillo was owned by Thomas Garle (one of Ward’s best patrons), her ungroomed mane and tail make her appear in a state of nature and free from the dominance of man. Her gangling yearling Skyscraper Colt was the foal of an Epsom Derby winner of the same name.
