This poetic sculpture by Mêne captures a fleeting moment shared by an Arabian mare and her foal. The playful foal frolics under the watchful eye of its mother, an intimate glimpse into the equine world. Mares and foals were also a typical subject in painting, particularly those by George Stubbs and his followers.
