VMFA’s signature public fundraising event looks ahead to Hollywood Costume for an inspired evening that will rival a red carpet premiere. The event takes place Saturday, September 7 and is led by a committee of volunteers.
The second annual ARTrageous will include Hollywood-inspired menu items and cocktails and live music from the Rhythm Kings. Last year’s inaugural event drew nearly 400 guests, and while it always carries the theme of the fall blockbuster exhibition, ARTrageous benefits the VMFA Exhibition Fund. The fund supports the museum’s entire exhibition portfolio, as well as related educational offerings and public programs.
“ARTrageous is poised to be such an exciting night for VMFA, and for Richmond” said Geoff and Jennifer Sisk, this year’s co-chairs with Drew and Julee Spitzer. “We can’t wait for everyone to experience the VMFA sculpture garden as the setting for this fun red carpet Hollywood evening, complete with a handful of first-ever ‘VMFA Experiences’ up for grabs at a silent auction. All funds raised will support the vibrancy that VMFA exhibitions bring to us and all of Virginia.”
The platinum corporate sponsors are Gumenick Properties and McKinnon and Harris. The silver corporate sponsor is RiverFront Investment Group, LLC.
