VMFA’s signature biennial fundraising event will be inspired by the recent exhibition Van Gogh, Manet, and Matisse: The Art of the Flower and the upcoming Rodin: Evolution of a Genius to create an evening filled with dancing, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres on September 12. The theme is Fête des Artistes to evoke the nightlife of Paris.
The third ARTrageous will include French-inspired menu items and live music. This year’s event includes a partnership with the secret dining society The Underground Kitchen. Amuse Restaurant’s Chef, Greg Haley, is joining forces with Underground Kitchen to create a culinary adventure for 50 guests. The Underground Kitchen’ following knows the details are a secret. ARTrageous carries the theme of the fall blockbuster exhibition and the 2013 event drew nearly 400 guests. The fundraiser benefits ARTshare, VMFA’s major digital initiative to make the museum’s collections and educational resources available to audiences throughout Virginia and the world.
For those guests who want to partake in the Underground Kitchen portion of the event, their ticket price includes the rest of ARTrageous’ events.
The platinum corporate sponsor is McKinnon and Harris. The gold corporate sponsors are Freeman’s, Miller Financial Services with Northwestern Mutual, Peachtree House Foundation, and The Winebow Group. The silver corporate sponsors are RiverFront Investment Group, LLC, Gumenick Properties, and Release the Hounds.
