Registration for VMFA Members

To accommodate the high demand, members-only registration for the following categories will begin as noted:

Studio School and Art History Classes (ages 16+)

Tue, Aug 6 | 8 am (online or by phone) or 10 am (in person)

Teen and All Children’s Classes

Wed, Aug 7 | 8 am (online or by phone) or 10 am (in person)

Dominion Energy Jazz Café | Kozy Cats

The Kozy Cats return for their third summer show at the Jazz Café, bringing with them a danceable mix of smooth jazz, R&B, and classic pop. The Cats will be joined by vocalist Mackenzie Manning, who is winning rave reviews with fans. Featuring Marshall Smith on vocals, Mike McNamara on guitar and vocals, Kim Ruder on drums and vocals, Alfred Walker on keyboards, Carter Blough on bass, Neal Bowens and Allen Burris on saxophones, and Dave Triplett on trumpet.

Back by popular demand:  the dynamic duo of song stylist Debra Dean and guitarist Patrick Lawler! They regularly entertain audiences on the elite club circuit from New York to Florida and abroad. Everyone loves their fun mix of jazz, blues and popular tunes. “The Chanteuse” and Patrick will be joined by Lucy Kilpatrick on keys, Mike Hawkins on bass, and Todd Woodson on drums.

Klaxton Brown is back! Who says a jazz band can't party, get down, and get funky? Brown will be joined by Robert Bohannon on alto and tenor sax and Yamaha Keyboards. With this combination of old with new plus rock-steady grooves, prepare to get “Klaxton-ized.”

Jazz Café welcomes the debut performance of Sista Nickey McMullen, a powerhouse vocalist interpreting jazz, soul, R&B and some of Latin music’s most recognizable tunes. Her musical collaborators include Carl Lester-El on bass, Chris Beasley on guitar, JL Harris on keys, Marcus EShadd Parker on drums, and BB Hamilton on trombone.
