Registration for VMFA Members

To accommodate the high demand, members-only registration for the following categories will begin as noted:

Studio School and Art History Classes (ages 16+)

Teen and All Children’s Classes

Wed, Aug 7 | 8 am (online or by phone) or 10 am (in person)

My Son the Doctor plays an infectiously danceable mix of Eastern European, Balkan, and Mediterranean folk music, with an emphasis on Yiddish, Hebrew, and Romani traditions. Get ready for dance tunes, Yiddish folk and theater songs, contemporary and traditional Romani songs, and Balkan pop—aka klezmer jazz! With Louis Schwartz on acoustic guitar and vocals, Allen Cole and Ben Grondahl on clarinet, Ken Kellner on electric guitar, Bryan Martin on electric bass, and David Ellis on hand percussion.

Forte Jazz Band from Smithfield, Virginia, plays jazz standards, smooth jazz and a dash of R&B/pop favorites. Get ready for an evening of sonic artistry with vocalist Shevonne Newby, Brian Pinner on saxophones, Pete Jaymes Ford on keyboard, Darryl Rawlings on drums, Jeffrey Bradby on guitar, Daniel Quackenbush on bass, Felix Valderrama on congas, and Herman Cox on trumpet.

After 5 Fridays | Dance After Work: Hip Hop Line Dancing

Kemel Patton, the King of Line Dancing, returns! New to line dancing? We got you. Patton brings music to inspire movement, and he and his friends teach us the steps. Drink specials from Best Café available beginning at 5:30 pm and the dancing starts at 6 pm.
