Additional Opportunities for M.LiT Participants: Teen Ternships
***Please note, summer 2025 Teen ‘Ternships are ONLY open to students who have participated in our 2024–25 M.LiT Program
Current M.LiT students in grades 10, 11, and 12 are eligible to apply for a summer Teen ‘Ternship, which is a paid internship position with the VMFA Education Department. Applicants must have completed the 2024-25 course and be 16 or older by May 2025 to be considered.
Time Commitment
Teen ‘Ternships require a weekly time commitment of 20–25 hours between June and August 2025 (excluding the week of July 4). The scheduled work week is generally Monday through Thursday; the dates include:
- Orientation: Date TBD
- Week 1: June 16–19
- Week 2: June 23–26
- NO MEETING THE WEEK OF JUNE 30-JULY 4th
- Week 3: July 7–10
- Week 4: July 14–17
- Week 5: July 21–24
- Week 6: July 28–31
- Make Up Dates: August 4–8
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Researching and providing recommendations for museum programs toward targeted audiences
- Drafting proposals for future Teen Programs and events
- Working on special projects related to VMFA’s large-scale Family Day Events
- Researching and assisting with planning for future M.LiT and Teen Stylin’ programs
- And so much more!

In your cover letter, please explain why you would like to be considered for the teen ‘ternship and the qualities you would bring to the VMFA Education Department, in addition to any potential scheduling conflicts (along with proposed solutions) to meet the designated hour requirements.
