Affiches Artistiques, French, Paris (Printer)
Manuel Orazi’s artistic prowess was highlighted at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle through his interior design for the Palais de la Danse, as well as through posters he designed for different pavilions. This poster promotes dance legend Loïe Fuller’s Serpentine performance at the exposition’s Théâtre de Loïe Fuller. A revolutionary innovator of theater and set design, Fuller invented a system of spotlights that illuminated Fuller’s white costume on stage with a rainbow glow, which is referenced in this poster’s gradient of colors.
