Create your own Stained Glass Window Inspired Work of Art
All art from the kids of the Neighborhood Resource Center of Greater Fulton
Materials:
Glue
Acrylic paint/food coloring
Picture frames
Jewels (optional)
Puffy Paint
Hot glue
Paint brush (to assist in applying glue/paint onto project surface)
Instructions:
- Create a mixture of glue and acrylic paint or food coloring. Mixing colors with glue lessens the color’s opacity and imitates stained glass more effectively.
- Take the picture frames and remove the backs so that only the glass is shown through the frame.
- Paint the color you created onto the surface of the glass. Jewels can be used to imitate cabochons. Drapery glass and feathered glass can be mimicked with hot glue (place glue where you want and then wait a bit until it’s cool enough to manipulate and shape it however you please). You can also use the puffy paint to add additional decoration, designs, and embellishment. Once you are done, allow the window to dry and place it in front of a light source. Have fun creating faux stained glass windows!
