Explore the exhibition Visions of Stately India: The Talegaonkar Collection of Indian Paintings currently on view in the South Asian galleries. Over the last twenty-five years, Richmond collectors and longtime supporters of South Asian art at VMFA, Drs. Shantaram and Sunita Talegaonkar have amassed an impressive group of Indian pictures, which they now share with museum visitors. Curator Dr. John Henry Rice surveys the nearly four-dozen paintings, focusing on a trio that demonstrates the breadth and quality of the Talegaonkars’ holdings.
