On Friday, July 29, 2022, VMFA held a panel discussion of individuals who immigrated to the United States much like Tsherin Sherpa, the Nepalese-born Tibetan American artist featured in the special exhibition Tsherin Sherpa: Spirits. The conversation focused on immigrant experiences of members of the Richmond community. The panel was moderated by Helen Rai, Director of Client Engagement at ReEstablish Richmond and included; Jo Ann Breaux, Director of Marketing and Media, Latin Ballet of Virginia; Victor Mukete, Attorney, and a Senior Manager with the Litigation Practice Group, Altria’s Law Department, and Khushnood Nabizada, Journalist and Communication Specialist.
