Art Education Center & Interactive Gallery Opening

Celebrate the opening of the newly renovated West Rock Art Education Center (AEC) & Memorial Foundation for Children Interactive Gallery exhibition! The day begins with a ribbon cutting at 1pm, followed by activities throughout the AEC with something for everyone to enjoy. The new Interactive Gallery exhibition, Rhythm of Art, explores the relationship of art and music. The exhibition includes a tactile print of Romare Bearden’s Three Folk Musicians, a collaborative magnetic mural, and other hands on activities that connect music and art. The Early Childhood Classroom and Studio 2 will house art projects or music and play activities, while Studio 1 will include a community mural program lead by local artist Hamilton Glass. This project will highlight African American community leaders from Richmond, Virginia.
