Enjoy cocktails and conversation in the museum’s Cochrane Atrium, where Jeffrey Allison, VMFA’s Director of Statewide Programs and Exhibitions and Paul Mellon Collection Educator, will lead a panel discussion with artist recipients of VMFA fellowships. Since 1940, the VMFA Fellowship Program has been a vital source of funding for art and art history students and professional artists, awarding over 1,400 fellowships totaling more than $5.8 million to Virginia’s artistic community.
Panelists will include Veronica Jackson, (2021-22 Professional Fellowship, Mixed Media, Bedford), Claire Stankus, (2020 Emergency Relief Fellowship Recipient, Painting, Monroe), and Sally Bowring (2003-04 Professional Fellowship, Painting, Richmond).
The museum will be open exclusively for Canvas members for this event.
