Headlines, Tweets, and Memes

Let the students choose a work of art and ask them to do the following:

Write a headline for this artwork (or group of art objects) that captures the most important aspect or meaning of this work.

Alternatives to headlines:

Write a tweet that captures the essence of this artwork and attach three hashtags that make clear its relationship to global, historical or cultural contexts.

Download an image of the artwork, and fashion a meme that succinctly demonstrates your understanding of this artwork.
