ARTrageous, a glittering evening of fun

ARTrageous 2013 looks ahead to Hollywood Costume, a dazzling blockbuster exhibition coming to VMFAARTrageous 2013 in November from the Victoria and Albert Museum. A committee of volunteers, led by Jennifer and Geoff Sisk and Julee and Drew Spitzer, will bring the glamour of Hollywood to VMFA on September 7 for an evening that rivals the thrill of a red carpet premiere.ARTrageous made its debut last fall with nearly 400 guests clad in their best “creative cocktail attire” enjoying innovative hors d’oeuvres, grooving to the sounds of one DC’s hottest DJs, and toasting the arrival of Dale Chihuly’s stunning Red Reeds. As the museum’s signature fundraising event, ARTrageous celebrates the cultural vibrancy that VMFA’s exhibition program brings to the Commonwealth. While the party each year is inspired by the upcoming banner exhibition, ARTrageous benefits the VMFA Exhibition Fund, which supports the museum’s entire exhibition portfolio as well as related educational offerings and public programs.
