This pair of screens depicts spring and autumn. The left screen shows a cherry tree surrounded by white irises, tiger lilies, yellow celandines, and horsetails, while the right screen features a red maple tree standing amid chrysanthemum and hibiscus. A winding stream unifies the two scenes. Although unsigned, the painting is attributed to a Rinpa-school artist of the 19th century, with distinctive features of simplified form, subdued colors, and compositional rhythm.
