This is a non-exempt position without benefits, eligible to work up to approximately 28 hours per week on average and up to 1,450 hours annually (May 1 – April 30).

About the Work
The work is straightforward: make guests feel special.
Here is how a Food & Beverage Supervisor accomplishes this as part of a team:
● Supervise all operational activities involving special events throughout the museum.
● Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
● Ensure established food service protocols and procedures are upheld.; including health and safety standards
● Supervise or manage bars; sometimes with ticket or cash set up
● Understanding Food Services scheduling system and ability schedule staff; when needed
● Help with event set up when needed
● Provide exceptional food and beverage service to guests
● Resolve customer issues should they arise.
● Communicate and resolve problems and issues that may arise during shifts
● Assist managers with associate recruitment and on-boarding as needed.
● Assist managers with associate performance issues and reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
● Must be 21 years of age or older.
● Certification, GED, high school diploma, or other food service education and/or experience
● Ability to solve problems independently.
● Knowledge of a full-service bar and ABC standards.
● Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor with guests and other employees
● Ability to read, comprehend and follow basic instructions and menus
● Ability to operate the point-of-sale register system, including processing credit card and cash transactions
● Ability to remain calm, professional and gracious in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
● Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during shifts
● Ability to be prompt and punctual to scheduled shifts, working various schedules
● Ability to lift or move 50 lbs and stand and walk for up to 10 hours; ability to lift, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear, and taste and smell
● Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, holidays, evenings and weekends.
Additional Considerations
● RSVP, TIPS, ServSafe and other ABC and food safety related certifications
● Prior supervisory experience
