Hapi may have been related to Setau, whose shabti is also displayed in this case. Both shabtis are shown with seed sacks hanging over their right shoulders, suggesting that they are from the same tomb and perhaps workshop (despite the differences in material). The tomb has been dated to the Amarna Period, when Amenhotep IV (who took the name Akhenaten) introduced a form of monotheism focused on the worship of the Aten, the sun god.
