This bronze mirror features four vigorous lions amid a complex design of birds and intertwining grapevines. Both lions and grapes were introduced to China through the Silk Road. The mirror is covered with a sheet of gold, which is almost completely intact, and reveals the luxurious style of Tang-dynasty decoration.
