This sumptuous container and tray would have been used for serving the digestive pan at the conclusion of a lavish meal. Nets of twisted silver wire are stretched over gilded silver frameworks and are accented by applied gilded-silver strips and medallions engraved with simple floral designs. The box and tray were once in the palace collections of Udaipur, the capital of Rajasthan’s Mewar region.
