Maki Haku, Japanese, 1924 - 2000 (Artist)
In pursuit of modern expression, Haku Maki created a print series depicting tea bowls in the 1960s. The circle above the vessel, as well as the gold leaf, are images associated with Zen Buddhism, symbolizing emptiness and the achievement of enlightenment.
