The central Christ figure of this triptych is flanked by St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker (left) and St. Prince Aleksandr Nevskii (right). This icon may have been presented to Tsarevich Nicholas Alexandrovich (later Tsar Nicholas II) at his coming-of-age ceremony in 1884 when he took the oath of loyalty to his father, Tsar Alexander III.
