This vivid scene in the Japanese Alps depicts brisk air, billowing clouds, and fresh snow washing over Mount Asahi’s rocky cliffs, which are coated in alpine vegetation. While Mount Shirouma is not pictured, the viewer can imagine Hasui standing atop it to achieve this magnificent view. Mount Asahi was one of twenty-five prints published in Hasui’s 1920s series, Souvenirs of Travel III.
