Yuquan, or Jade Spring Mountain, is located outside Beijing and was once declared by Emperor Qianlong as the “finest spring under heaven.” Its cool, vitalizing waters flow into Kunming Lake at the Summer Palace, where they were collected and transported into the Forbidden City for consumption by imperials and nobles.
