At nearly 12,400 feet, Mount Fuji is perhaps the most iconic subject in Japanese landscapes. Here, shown from across Suruga Bay atop Satta Pass, travelers at the upper left gaze at Fuji’s beauty while boats sail in the waters below. This print demonstrates an innovative and personal point of view, showing Fuji partially obscured by pine trees and gnarled clifftops in the foreground.
