This seated Qimbaya anthropomorphic figure with closed eyes and a composed expression wears a gold nose ring similar to those exhibited in this gallery. The enlarged head, stylized geometric features, and stiffly symmetrical posture are typical of the Quimbaya style and suggest that the man is either deceased or in a trance. The lack of torso decoration and the presence of various perforations suggest that the figure may have been adorned with additional gold and textiles.
