one draw around arms and/ notebook. Polish the area/ only (a.). Repeat this each/ year that chair is moved/ inside. Do not polish the rest/ of the surfaces.
Inscribed in graphite lower left: At regular intervals specified by/ S. Lewis he will sit in the chair/ and write in a notebook on the/ table. The subject of these entries/ to known only to S. Lewis and/ R. Morris. Date and time of each/ entry to be logged in book. This/ activity to occur only when/ table and chairs are inside.
