This poster, an advertisement for Nord Express, was designed by Cassandre in 1927. It shows a stylized image of a train speeding toward the horizon, with clouds of smoke and blue sky above. The visual language was influenced by Cubism, but the poster is definitely in the French Art Deco style because of its imagery and the modernity of the subject matter. The poster communicates the glamour of train travel.
