Throughout her career Ferrill has focused on elements of performance in widely disparate contexts, from dance clubs to religious services. In 2017.196-198, Ferrill conveys the spiritual state of the subjects by emphasizing the position of their arms and hands. Prayer, Rockford, Alabama depicts a parishioner who has fallen after being overcome by the Spirit, with his hands lifted upwards.
