Black-figure band-cup (Primary Title)
attributed to, Elbows Out Painter, Greek, active ca. 550 – 530 BC (Artist)
The Elbows Out Painter is known as a mannerist painter, because many of his human figures make exaggerated gestures, and as one of the “Little Masters,” because many of his works are marked by miniaturist painting. Band-cups have an unpainted band between the handles that could serve as a field for decoration.
