Samseonam Rock, or the Rock of Three Immortals, is one of the most famous sites of Mount Geumgang, also known as the Diamond Mountains, in North Korea. The valleys, waterfalls, and temples amid the Diamond Mountains have captivated the creativity and imagination of artists and poets for centuries. During Hasui’s trip to Korea in 1939, he first visited this site in the summer. In this view, the Samseonam Rock soars diagonally across the picture plain. White clouds float in the blue sky, while sunshine casts shadows on the foliage-covered hillside.
