Basset Hound (Primary Title)
Antoine-Louis Barye, French, 1796 - 1875 (Artist)
This basset hound’s relaxed pose conveys its domesticated nature. Barye himself had a pet dog, an Algerian greyhound called Tom, which he spent considerable time observing to understand more completely the actions and expressions of dogs.
