Made for an elite Iron Age burial, this Villanovan cinerary urn is in the shape of a hut, complete with a door and roof beams. Archaeological evidence confirms that these urns, which held the cremated remains of the dead, resemble actual structures of the period. In addition to the birds depicted perched on the roof, the hut is decorated with incised and painted patterns, including concentric squares, dogtooth borders, and round curves.
