This iconic sculpture conveys the zeal with which the French took up the English fashion for the turf. Isidore-Jules Bonheur was the brother of the much better-known and successful artist Rosa Bonheur, famous for her large canvases and for her adventurous pursuits, which included travelling with Buffalo Bill for a time.
