From 1946 to today, River Road Church has provided a distinctive church home where families and individuals from a variety of Christian backgrounds can find an engaging worship experience, deepening spiritual growth, opportunities for service to others and hearty fellowship.

Rivanna Conservation Society

The Rivanna Conservation Society (RCS) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization created in 1990. As the “Voice of the Rivanna,” RCS’s mission is to safeguard the ecological, recreational, historical, cultural and scenic resources of the Rivanna River and its tributaries.

Rawls Museum Arts Inc.

The Walter Cecil Rawls Library and Museum was first envisioned in 1952 by Walter Cecil Rawls, a St. Louis businessman and native of Southampton County. In searching for a suitable site, Mr. Rawls enlisted the aid of his boyhood friend, Junius W. Pulley who suggested the Courtland location. Both Mr. Rawls, an inventor and amateur artist, and Mr. Pulley desired that the library would include a museum to house artifacts of the county and collections of art.

Rappahannock Art League

Rappahannock Art League is the oldest and largest visual arts organization in the area. We were founded in 1949 and now have 400 members. Our Studio Gallery on Main Street in Kilmarnock shows the art and fine craft of 80 or so of our members. The League’s activities are focused in the lower Northern Neck and lower Middle Peninsula of Virginia.

Pro-Art Association

The Pro-Art Association is a community-based organization dedicated to the promotion of the arts in Wise County, the City of Norton, Lee and Dickenson Counties and the surrounding area.

Powhatan County Public Library

The Powhatan County Public Library was established as the library of record for Powhatan County on May 9, 1988. The current library was constructed in 2001 and the building was dedicated on November 3, 2001. The Library is a department of the Powhatan County government.

Portlock Galleries at SoNo

The cultural renaissance in Hampton Roads continues with the distinctive Portlock Galleries at SoNo. Recent renovations to the historic Portlock School have created a contemporary art gallery, visitors center, and unique meeting destination in the South Norfolk area of Chesapeake.

Parsons-Bruce Art Association

Parsons-Bruce art association is a non-profit all volunteer organization whose members believe that art is for everyone. Since 1976 Parsons-Bruce has been an indispensable font of visual art from eye-popping exhibits to hands-on classes and everything in between. Its sole mission is to serve the community.

the Historical Society of Western Virginia.
