The Local History service of the Chesterfield County Public Library provides the public informational sources regarding the genealogy, geography and history of Chesterfield County and neighboring localities, specifically, and of the Commonwealth of Virginia, generally.

Charles Harris Library Gallery

The Charles Harris Library Gallery is a non-profit, self-supporting venue for visual arts in Southwest Virginia, established in 1981 as a memorial to Charles W. Harris.
Our purpose is to enhance the cultural and creative life of our community.
The Gallery, in partnership with the Pro-Art Association of Virginia and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, shows local, regional, national and international artists.

Central Virginia Arts Association

Central Virginia Arts Association primary purpose is arts, culture and humanities with specific focus on arts education programs. The organization’s legal structure is a corporation.

Central Rappahannock Regional Library

The Central Rappahannock Regional Library affirms its commitment to sponsor and support the lively arts and to cooperate with all community resource providers to enhance the quality of life for area citizens by enriching their experiences and expanding their cultural horizons.

Center for the Arts of Greater Manassas/Prince William County

The Center for the Arts of Greater Manassas/Prince William County sponsors theatrical productions for children and adults, teaches arts classes, promotes visual arts and provides community outreach programs for local youth. Founded in 1984 by a group of artists and art lovers, the Center aims to enrich the quality of life in the Northern Virginia suburbs through arts performance and education. A theater, an art gallery and classrooms are located in the historic Candy Factory building in Old Town Manassas, at 9419 Battle Street.

Cape Charles Historical Society

Located in an old power plant, where one of the original engine-generators remains on permanent exhibit. Other exhibits feature town history including railroads, schools, homes, etc.

Brandermill Woods Retirement Community

Brandermill Woods is an adult rental community exclusively for those 65 and older where residents enjoy small town friendliness and quality services with a variety of options to enhance independence.

Bower Center for the Arts

The Wharton Memorial Foundation as the Bower Center for the Arts exists in part, according to the by-laws, “to promote the cultural arts” in the Bedford area. Since 2006 the Bower Center has worked toward providing a cultural arts center in Bedford and will continue to build upon that foundation to provide an atmosphere of learning and personal growth through entertainment and education in the Visual and Performing Arts.

Bon Air Artists Association

The Bon Air Artists Association was formed and now not only fulfills the wants of a group of avid artists, but also extends its opportunities to the needs of Chesterfield County’s escalating community. By promoting cultural awareness, offering excellent programming and giving incoming artists the chance to meet, share, and exhibit with other artists. The Bon Air Artists Association has grown as an active, friendly and stimulating organization serving the area.

Blue Ridge Arts Council, Inc.

Founded in 1987, Blue Ridge Arts Council, Inc. is a 501 (C) 3 designated non-profit arts and education organization that primarily serves residents of Front Royal/Warren County. Our program areas encompass Arts Education, Art Exhibitions and Community Partnerships.
